Rylan received presents from his grandparents in the mail today, and he loves them! He immediately lined them up and said "Look, all together!" THANK YOU GRANDMAMOTO and GRANDPAMOTO! Love you and can't wait to see you!

ROCK GARDEN

I was hoping to not be pregnant at my next post but this girl is stubborn! We are still waiting, approaching due date in 2 days!!! Plan is to induce next Tuesday if nothing happens before. Anyway, Rylan has been active as ever, absolutely loves visiting the Rock Garden behind our church! Enjoy the photos!

August 1, 2008 was also a big day for Chris! He started his first day of work at OWASA Family Medicine and saw 13 patients, only 2 less than some of the regular docs! We are proud of him!

I'm a Big Kid Now

August 1, 2008 was a big day for Rylan. First, he got his very first official haircut (excluding the trim of bangs I gave him last week under threat from Chris). It took a lollipop to keep him still but otherwise he did great. The only tears you see are when hair got onto the lollipop and in his mouth! He was rewarded with an ice cream cone from Papa. Next, he peed in the potty 3 times! Finally, it was the end of the road for paci. After reading "Bye Bye Pacifier" we mailed all the pacis to "babies who need them". Naptime was torture, crying for 1.5 hrs, sleeping for 45 min, then 30 min of waking up in "withdrawal". But bedtime went quite well, only a few calls in the first 20 min and then slept all night without mom having to go in at all. Today, naptime was 1 hour of singing and talking before a 1.5 hr nap but otherwise no crying. I can't believe my baby is growing up!

Kiawah Island July 20-24

So I attended my first CME conference since graduating residency. It was on female issues in preparation for my possible new job with the OB/GYNs. Anyway, a beautiful location, Chris, Rylan and my mom went along. Unfortunately Rylan was sick with a bad cold the first part of the week and so they didn't get to do very many activities. But we did go to the beach, the pool, and a carnival. On the way home we stopped in Charleston for Gelato at Paulo's!

Yes, God does work miracles still today! So, two days (2!) after we turned the house over to the realtor we had an offer. And not just any offer. They only asked $5000 off the asking price and were willing to pay all the closing costs. We agreed of course and after a few minor repairs, a drive by appraisal (has anyone ever heard of this?) that agreed with the price, and 30 days later, we officially closed on July 30! Praise God! Goodbye first house! Now we can get started on the new one!
