January was a month of birthdays! We were invited to two birthday parties on one Sunday! The first was a skating party for my friend Steph's daughter Makayla who turned 5! It was at the same old skating rink in Calhoun that I had a birthday part at when I turned 8 or 9! Hilarious! I took Rylan while Ava stayed home with Daddy and napped. Rylan was skeptical at first and wouldn't even put on the skates, but after watching for about 10 minutes he wanted to do it! I have discovered this is how Rylan is, he is not brave, but give him time to warm up and he'll give new things a try! It was a blast, and of course I had to skate with him! When is the last time you put on a pair of roller skates?
As soon as that party was over we raced home to pick up Ava and went over to the Short's home for Emma's 4th Birthday! Here we had yummy food, 2 cakes and cupcakes, and later the kids made cookies! Fun times for all! We love birthday parties!

Donuts!

We don't eat donuts at our house for breakfast, but every once in a while we have them for dessert!

Mudbabies!

One weekend when my grandma was here to visit in January, we went outside to let the kids play. It had been raining, and there are tons of puddles around our house, as we haven't done any landscaping yet. I decided to let go and let the kids play in them. It was just a one time thing. Unfortunately, now every time it rains, Ava goes straight for the puddles because she thinks it's ok, and of course what could be more fun?

Christmas

Today is March 1 and I am finally posting Christmas photos! We had a great visit with my MIL for a week, who was gracious enough to watch the kids whil my mom went on a cruise with my brother and his family. The kids did awesome with her and I think they all had a swell time! The Tuesday before christmas Chris' dad and brothers arrived and we started celebrating the holidays right away! First we took a trip up to the Tennessee Aquarium! The rest of the week was spent at home getting ready for the big day with last minute shopping and grocery stocking! We had wonderful Christmas day with presents for the kids and yummy food all day long prepared by Kevin! My Aunt Margaret and Uncle Gary also joined us for good times! What a wonderful holiday to celebrate Jesus with family!
