SNOW!

I don't remember a winter ever being this cold! We've had temps in the 20s this holiday season! And, yes it even snowed, at least twice! Here are photos of the kids, before and after Christmas. They both loved it, but the second time, Rylan only was out for 2 minutes when he started crying to go inside! The culprit -- he grabbed a handful of snow and when it melted his hands got cold!

Grandma Margaret

Rylan loved the carousel, but Ava was not so sure! Had to hold on to her tight!

We continue to be blessed with frequent visits from Grandma! It is now tradition for Rylan to bake biscuits with her on Sunday mornings when she's here. And she always has some new toys for each of them, flea market or yard sale finds! This particular visit we took Grandma to our playplace at the local mall, and even took a ride on the carousel!

Getting Ready for Christmas!

After Thanksgiving, it was time to try to find all of my Christmas decor amongst the unpacked boxes! And although a lot of the boxes were labeled wrong, I think I found everything! Rylan had fun helping me put the bulbs on my mom's "faux" tree! And I think Ava only broke 3 or 4 of them over the course of the holidays. Anyone with toddlers probably had a tree like ours -- no decorations on the bottom third of the tree! Anyway, Christmas is perfect in the formal livng room that rarely gets used -- since it is all red furniture!

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving is always at Connie and Darrel's house, which is wonderful! Unfortunately the whole family came down with the stomach flu a few days before, but luckily we were well enough to eat a little dinner by Turkey Day! What wonderful family we have to be thankful for!

BACKING UP.

Wow! I'm super behind, but this has been one of the busiest holiday seasons ever! We've had company staying over at our house for the last 6 weeks! It was fun but crazy! Let's start with Ava's 1 year follow up at the cardiologist. It turned out to be a waste of time because she is perfectly fine! No more murmur! Who knows, maybe the VSD is totally closed now, but they didn't do an echo tis time. They did do an EKG, what for I don't know, but she definitely didn't tolerate it well like last year! This girl does not sit still for 2 seconds! Anyway, we are glad that she is healthy!
